The International Classical Theatre Festival of Mérida, driven by its mission to extend its influence, magic, and contribution to the performing arts beyond the Roman Theatre of Mérida, has in recent years presented various performances at the following venues:
Madrid. For Jesús Cimarro, director of the Mérida Festival, “it is essential to maintain this extension in Madrid, which allows us to highlight and showcase for audiences who haven’t been able to travel to Extremadura some of the most interesting Greco-Latin or Greco-Roman themed works from the Mérida program.”
Medellín. The restored Roman Theatre of Medellín (Badajoz) hosts, for the ninth consecutive year this summer, an extension of the Mérida Festival that brings the monument back to life as a theatrical stage.
Regina. As part of a collaboration with the Regina Theatre Festival, held in Casas de Reina (Badajoz), the Mérida Festival sponsors the most important performance of this event, which is organized by the Casas de Reina City Council and this year celebrates its fifteenth edition.
