The Academy’s Summer School project is aimed at continuing to operate in the long-term with a clear objective of promoting culture. The School brings together professionals of renowned prestige who belong to the University of Extremadura Academy of Theatrical Arts in order to carry out an ambitious research and praxis project in which major artists from theatre, dance and all other stage performance specialties discover the secrets of their trade along with professors and researchers.
The Academy’s Summer School will begin its second edition next July at the National Museum of Roman Art of Mérida. The various classes and scheduled activities will take place over four intense days from 23rd to 26th.
The School, which is organised by the Spanish Academy of Theatrical Arts through its Foundation and in collaboration with the University of Extremadura, the Festival of Mérida and SGAE Foundation is aimed at university students and theatre schools, teaching staff and professionals with an interest or experience in dramatic arts. The programme is comprised of 50 course hours and is granted 2 ECTS from the University of Extremadura. Classes will be taught by the Academy’s professionals and the University’s professors.
The programme is designed to concentrate a large number of activities in just four days starting at nine in the morning until twelve at night: theory and debates in the mornings; experimental sessions aimed at demonstrating practical cases to students on issues professionals often have to handle on stage as well as dramatized readings (in the afternoons), performances and theatrical activities at night.
